Android Activity Syncing with Health Connect
FitPros uses Health Connect for supported Android activity syncing. Health Connect allows health and fitness apps to share information such as steps and activity while letting you control which apps can read and write that information.
1. Open Health Connect
On Android 14 or newer:
Settings → Security & privacy → Privacy controls → Health Connect
On Android 13 or older, Health Connect may need to be installed separately from Google Play.
2. Confirm your activity is in Health Connect
Before troubleshooting FitPros, make sure Health Connect actually contains the activity you expect to sync.
Open:
Health Connect → Permissions and data → Data and access → Activity
Then check the relevant data type, such as:
Steps
Health Connect allows you to view which apps are writing that data and the individual entries stored there.
If the activity is not appearing in Health Connect, the issue is likely with the source app or wearable rather than FitPros.
3. Check FitPros Health Connect permissions
Open:
Health Connect → App permissions → FitPros
Make sure FitPros has the necessary permissions for the activity you are trying to sync.
For steps, FitPros needs permission to read step data from Health Connect. Health Connect lets users grant or revoke individual data permissions at any time.
4. Check the app or wearable providing your activity
Your phone, fitness app, or wearable must first write its activity into Health Connect.
Examples may include supported fitness apps or wearable companion apps.
In Health Connect, you can check:
Permissions and data → App permissions
and verify that the source app is connected and allowed to write activity data.
5. Check for recent Health Connect activity
Health Connect can show whether connected apps have recently accessed your health data.
Open:
Health Connect → Recent Access → See all recent access
This can help confirm whether your fitness app and FitPros are communicating with Health Connect.
6. Make sure you joined the correct FitPros challenge
If you expect the activity to count toward a FitPros challenge, confirm that:
- You joined the challenge.
- The challenge is currently active.
- The activity being synced is eligible for that challenge.
Activity stored in Health Connect will not necessarily count toward every FitPros challenge.
7. Refresh the connection
If permissions look correct but activity is still missing:
- Fully close FitPros.
- Reopen FitPros.
- Recheck your Health Connect permissions.
- If necessary, turn the connection off and reconnect it through FitPros.
Google specifically recommends reconnecting permissions when Health Connect data is not syncing correctly.
8. Allow time for activity to appear
After changing Health Connect permissions or reconnecting your activity source, allow up to 24 hours for your activity to appear in FitPros.
Still not syncing?
If your activity still does not appear after confirming the data exists in Health Connect, checking permissions, reconnecting, and waiting up to 24 hours, contact FitPros support.
